Amtrak Crash – Northeast Regional 188 WAS-NYC Crashes in Philadelphia

There’s some terrible news from Philadelphia.   Amtrak’s Northeast Regional Service train 188 between Washington DC’s Union Station and New York’s Penn Station has derailed and crashed outside of Philadelphia.

Right now, there are no definitive reports as to what happened, but the initial video looks quite bad.

The local Philadelphia news stations have continuous coverage on this, as it just happened: http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Amtrak-Derailment-Philadelphia–303536331.html

The major news networks are now picking the story up.  I just wanted to get the news out there.

Scary stuff. As somebody who lives in DC and semi-regularly takes the Amtrak Northeast Regional between DC and New York, this hits home and is pretty scary to me.

Thoughts and prayers with passengers and their families.
